    From the creators of our 2009 box office hit The Wizard of Oz comes this world premiere original adaptation of the famous Gaston Leroux novel The Phantom of the Opera.  Christine is a promising young ballerina in the Paris Opera Ballet who catapults to stardom with the love and support of the mysterious, masked phantom.  However, his love is deadly and her success comes at a price.

    Oklahoma City Ballet is proud to bring you two master works from two of 20th century’s most influential choreographers plus two new world premiere’s from two talented artists who are making a name for themselves in 21st century dance. 

    George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie was first created in 1967 on the New York City Ballet and is a whirl of perpetual motion. 

    Created in 1981 on the Joffrey Ballet, Gerald Arpino’s LightRain is a slick and energetic ensemble work capturing a youthful and exuberant spirit in contemporary movement.  Oklahoma City Ballet will be the first company to dance Light Rain outside of the Joffrey Ballet. 

    Jessica Lang is one of ballets most sought after choreographers having created work for American Ballet Theater and Pennsylvania Ballet among many others.  A new work from artistic director Robert Mills finishes out this exciting evening of classic and modern repertory.

    Sure to be the Oklahoma arts event of the year, three of Oklahoma City’s preeminent arts organizations combine on this incredible collaboration of sight and sound.  A world premiere production joining the forces of Oklahoma City Ballet, The OKC Philharmonic and Canterbury Choral Society, Mozarts Requiem will combine the powerful and well-known Requiem Mass in D minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart conducted by Canterbury Artistic Director Dr. Randi Von Ellefson and the visceral, compelling choreography of Artistic Director, Robert Mills.  Opening the program will beMarius Petipa’s classical one act ballet Paquita Grand pas Classique.
