The Oklahoma City Ballet Dances into the Holiday Season with Performances Downtown in December

Oklahoma City, OK—Your Oklahoma City Ballet is a company on the move this December. The reinvigorated ballet will usher in December in style, with a beautiful performance November 27th at Couch/Kerr Park. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a holiday selection of songs from the Canterbury Choral Society. At 5:50 p.m. the dancers with the Oklahoma City Ballet will take the stage, giving downtowners a stunning performance before welcoming Santa and Mayor Mick Cornett to the stage to officially welcome the holiday season.
Few things evoke wonderful holiday memories like a visit to see The Nutcracker performed by the Oklahoma City Ballet. Take a moment from your busy holiday schedule to relax and enjoy the spirit of the season with Clara, The Mouse King, and The Nutcracker Prince. All the familiar characters are back to delight audiences of all ages. With the unveiling of additional new sets and costumes and Tchaikovsky’s timeless score played by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, The Nutcracker is always full of surprises! Called: “A delightful holiday event for the whole Family” by The Oklahoman in 2008, Robert Mills’ all new version stays true to the original E.T.A Hoffman story you remember from your childhood. The Oklahoma City Ballet will be taking The Nutcracker on the road December 5th, traveling to Ada for two performances. Tickets go on sale November 16th at Gem Jewelers, 101 W Main in Ada. Tickets are $25, with all seats reserved. The company will perform in the new Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center at 2 and 7p.m. “The Nutcracker” is a presentation of the Ada Arts Council, and will be one of the first large scale productions to be held in the new fine arts center since its dedication Sept. 25, 2009.

Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children is the largest provider of private, not-for-profit, residential childcare in the state. Dancers will give a mini performance of The Nutcracker December 15th at 4:00 p.m.
